When he first became a Shinigami, it did look like a big Kitchen knife, BUT, his second one, with his own power, also did ... the second being a CLEAVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like his first sword BETTER! The new one doesn't fit that hot guy(Ichigo)! He's way to good for a sword that looks like his 2nd sword!

lmao it totally looks like an overgrown kitchen knife with bandages or something... but I love that form of his zanpakuto, that's my favorite released form..but all his zanpakuto are pretty cool
yes, it looks like a big kitchen knife. That's the catch, really becuz how can he has a flashy or real sword when he's not a real shinigami (real shinigami undergo training so they got those nice nice zanpaktou) It's only logical that it resembles a knife-the closest thing to a sword that a 15-year-old boy has ever seen in his life.
