Transformers G1, Anime or Cartoon?!
Question: I say it's more anime that cartoon for these reasons
1- Robots are designed using Anime mecha style
2- Robots based on toy designs FROM JAPAN
3- many Japanese staff
4- many episodes were made in Japan by Toei Animation
5- human characters based on anime designs
6- the whole story and concept of transformers is Japanese
7- Optimus Prime has a mouth plate and antennas that appear on most anime robots like Gundams and Teknoman
8- 80's anime backgrounds

I mean seriously, what the he77? are they trying to say kids these days are getting more and more "soft or stupid" that they have to make junk like this? what was wrong with the first one? they're wussying up everything...

EDIT: Yes, I consider it anime and a very good one. I grew up fine *tells people around me to stop laughing* (/k, nobody's around) I just wish that people wouldn't be so narrowminded in thinking that everything animated HAS to be for children

YOu're talking about the new one right?... I'd say cartoon... cna't even consider it that because it is the worst show I have ever seen my life it completely kills transformers.. really wish they never made the movie now.. this garbage wouldn't have come out .... miss the actual aanime/3d show .. btw pretty much same style as teen titans
i absolutely agree with lady flash cry. i dont think i could agree more. just becuz its in a style similar to japan or based off of something from japan, doesnt make it anime. anime is animation from japan. i dont care if the next naruto series is made in america, it still wont be anime. they call that a cartoon. cartoons in america and anime in japan.the reason anime is so successful is becuz it isnt wussied up. it has serious and meaningful stories.
edit: oh the series in the 80's is definately anime. they started it in japan didnt they? yes its japanese and anime.i cant believe my mom let me watch the movie when i was a kid. so violent haha. np lady flash cry :)

if the producers are japanese,and made by japanese then it is an anime. but the reality is that anime and cartoon is just the same. anime is a lame term for japanese animation, but it is also a cartoon. the only diffence is the theme/genre.
because cartoon(animated) is in definition: A motion picture or television film consisting of a photographed series of drawings, objects, or computer graphics that simulates motion by recording very slight, continuous changes in the images, frame by frame.
and anime in definition is:
A style of animation developed in Japan, characterized by stylized colorful art and often adult themes. or
A Japanese style of motion-picture animation, characterized by highly stylized, colorful art, futuristic settings, violence, and sexuality.
