Who was the best character in M*A*S*H the t.v. show in the 70's?!
Question: I'm in love with the show (check out my name....) and think BJ was probably the best because he was consistent and tried to live by his morals without imposing them on others....HOWEVER you made me laugh about Col. Flagg! I JUST watched the episode in season 8 called Rally Round the Flagg, that is so funny! he thinks he's busting a spy ring when it's really just Hawkeye, BJ, Col. Potter and some Koreans from ROK playing poker.....Just before he goes in to bust up the supposed spy ring, he says, "After tonight, every kid in America will wish he were me!" I hope you've seen it because it was hilarious :)

although this is a hard question for me to answer because i LOVE M*A*S*H and well quite frankly I love all the charecters in the show.
Father Mulchey (sp) is awsome
Cpl Klinger is great

There was no best. If not for the entire cast M*A*S*H would have never been as popular as it was. When they changed col Henry Blake for col Sherman Potter they didn't know if that would effect the show same with Trapper and BJ and Frank for Charles. Each character makes his mark but the cast makes the show. I had no favorite and still watch it to this day.
Hawkeye by far the funniest character but you have to give props to Loretta Swit for playing such a stick in the mud Hotlips Hulihan, anybody can be funny, but to play such a prude pain in the butt, that takes some talent.
