Well, "Hereafter" is a two parter Justice League episode.
It featured Vandal Savage killing the entire Justice League, with the exception of Superman, who was presumed dead.
Unknown to them, Superman didn't die and was instead transfered into the future.
Superman then met Vandal Savage, who is now the only human on Earth. The two then accept their current fate, but then start working on a way to send Superman to return to his own time.
Vandal Savage and Superman then attempt to get back Vandal Savage's zero point energy device from the bugs, to power Vandal Savage's time machine.
