When you watch an anime for the first time----> ??!

Question: ... And the opening theme comes up... what is it that you do FIRST?

Do you watch the clips in the opening?
Do you read the Japanese lyrics?
Do you read the english lyrics??
or Do you skip the opening all together?
=]

It's odd... but i usually read the japanese lyrics first... and then the second time I would read the english... and then finally look at the scenes.
Most of the time, anyway ^^

How about you??

And how about the ending? Do you sit and watch the ending song (if there is one) or do you automatically go for the next ep w/o watching it?

Odd question, I know ^^
Thanks ^^

I just like to watch and enjoy through the episodes while its going. I kind of do it all. I like to watch the opening, read the Japanese and/or English lyrics. Although if it an opening I have already seen I will just skip past it and watch the episode. I usually do that with Naruto. Only if its a new opening I will watch it.

Naruto Rocks!!!!!

I watch em both, and read the japanese lyrics (and usually sing along) then english, then watch the little scenes. Same for ending!
(If I already know the song, I just sing along and watch the scenes)

Well I usually skip the opening theme all together... The only songs I would listen too are the Naruto one.. I have them on my iPOD ^^ but if I seem interest I wouldn't read the lyrics I would just listen to it and watch the scenes. For the ending theme I always skip it and I just go straight to the next episode.

First I check if I like the animation style, then see if the scenes are interesting and then read the lyrics...but if the song is really catchy, I only pay attention to the lyrics ^_^
edit: for the ending I only watch it when an episode really got to me and I need a little time to take it in, otherwise I hurry and switch to the next ep and skip the ending

I usually skip the openings, except for Ouran High School Host Club.

i usually listen to the song of the opening, then watch the series
if i like the song, next time i saw, i try to memoreis the lyric
then i see the english subtitle
if not, i skip the intro

like the opening, i did the same thing to the ending
if i like, i listen to the song until the end
then try to memories it

yes, i watch the opening always!^^

yes, so i can sing it...

yes, i mean yes! al i can do is relate to the song.^^

no, i like to listen, and sing along with the songs lol!XD also, getting scolded by my sister is fun.

i just skip it sometimes, because it's the end of the show.

1- I gotta skip it, unless I've only seen it once or twice.

2- Next Ep, But I always liked endings better.

when i first start an anime i will watch the opening to see what the song is like if i like it i will watch the whole thing then the next episode ill read the song in english i cant read japanese
even if i dont like the song i will still watch it i dont know its just something i do thanks for asking

I read the English lyrics the first time so that i can memorize it and i don't have to read it the second time i wacth.I'll just sing a long with it without reading.
I like the Endings, but some animes don't have good ones so i skip it sometimes.

I usually try my best to read the English lyrics and watch the clips at the same time. Focusing more on the words though. I dont normally watch the ending though, and after 1 episode (unless it has a really great opening/ending) i dont watch either

yeah, i would read the japanese lyrics first, then watch the clip. Finally understanding what the japanese words mean. Then when i know the song really well, i would skip it.

watch them both unless its annoying if it is i skip it

I just look at it as a whole package
But the first thing that catches my eye is the Japanese lyrics.

Sometimes I'll watch the ending song.
I always watch the endings in Full Moon wo Sagashite, I sometimes watch the ending in Ouran High School Host Club, but I never watched the endings in Mermaid Melody.
It depends how much I like the song or how much I want to get to the next episode at that time.

Opening:

1. Yes.
2. Yes.
3. Sometimes.... most likely, no.

Ending:

Sometimes yes. If it's on TV station, I don't have the chance since they always skip the ending. *sulks* If something interesting is at the end, I normally skip the ending and just watch the interesting part. Especially when the ending song is not good. >_>

Ah, the question's not odd, just unusually refreshing! When I'm watching an anime for the first time, usually it's a dub. I know several people would say this doesn't make me a true anime fan, because I don't watch them in Japanese, but I can't stand subs; I end up concentrating too much on reading the frickin words at the bottom instead of watching the show.

I watch the entire opening, and I immediately fall in love with it! Then, five episodes later, the opening theme usually becomes sort of boring and I skip it.

Then, I'm so excited about what happens next that I totally skip the ending. Who REALLY gives a care about the ending anyway? Most of the important people who made the show and music are in the opening credits.

01. Yes
02. Yes, I try to
03. Yes
04. NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am A LOT like you, I guess !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT:::: ACTUALLY, I ALWAYS WATCH EVERY THEME SONG, BOTH OPENING AND ENDING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First time, I watch the English lyrics so I know what it's about, next few times, I watch English and Japanese (I pause to read both), and then once I basically know all of it, I pay more attention to the clips. =]

I watch them both!

I watch the clip in the opening first while listening to the song, to check whether the clip suits the song! LOL...
And then only I read the Japanese lyrics and I rarely read the English lyrics...

For the ending song, I'm just like you, I'll wait for the song only if it's awesome! =)

at first yeah, i watch the opening and ending theme but not every episode i mean come on you dont want to watch it all over again and im excited to see whats going to happen on the next episode so i just fast forward it. (--,)

I do the same. I have tendancy to watch the Japanese lyrics, then I read the English, and then I'll watch.

yes, I do watch the opening just to see the characters' faces, I don't really pay that much attention to the art and I listen to the song very carefully, however I don't read the japanese lyrics nor the english ones.... and yeah, I watch the ending too!
that was for the first episode, well, for the second episode I skip both the opening and the ending themes, in case I liked either the openeing or the ending then I'll watch it again without reading the lyrics, if I feel like singing it together then I'll read the japanese lyrics, I've never read the meanings (the english ones) lol, I just don't care about them.....
I rarely watch the ending for the second time unless it's very interesting, I just watch it for the first time, but yeah sometimes I watch the ending because they change some scenes and keep the song, like the ending song never changes but the scenes change in every episode, for example the 1st ending for bleach, they show 1 captain with his leutunent in one episode and in the next time they show another captain...
and the first ending for one piece, firstly Luffy stands in front of the sea alone, in the next episodes they show him with comrades one by one....

I wouldn't do any ov them, I don't like anime.
