Kimimaro probably has the saddest story...cuz he was locked in a cell and all that. But also Gaara too. because he was born for no reason other than to be a demon. thats pretty sad, i think.

Gaara, because unlike Naruto he had no friends or family that cared for him. He was left alone in the world without anybody. Naruto at least had his teacher. As for everyone else they had it rough too, but they at least had someone love them, excluding the bone guy (he might not have had anyone... I think?)
Well, I'm stuck between Naruto, Gaara, Sasuke, and Neji.
Naruto had no friends, no family, and everyone hated his guts for something that wasn't even his fault and to top it all off, Naruto didn't even know why everyone hated his until later on in life.
Garra on the other hand knew why everyone hated him (kinda), he had family (still does), and they didn't hate him. Everyone feared him. So his father sent people to kill him. All of which failed obviously.
Sasuke's entire clan was killed by his own brother. Then his brother killed his parents in front of him! He must have nightmares because of that. He would be scared for life with that image in his mind.
Neji's dad was killed and he never knew the real reason why until he was older. He has to live in a clan that has some seriously messed up rules.
Overall, after looking at the facts, I've come to the conclusion that they all had horrible pasts. Each were horrible in differant ways. Honestly, I don't know who had the worst past.
I just know that out of all of these characters Naruto is the only one who was able to make it through unharmed (or close enough to it).

sasori..because in shipuden he was left by his parents to his grandmother...then his parents died..he made puppets looking like his parents and well..i almost cried when he dide at the end..his parents were hugging him...
but since most of the answers say gaara..i better go with it...
I would say Gaara, Naruto, and Sasuke
Gaara- His mom didn't want to have him, dad wanted to kill him, Uncle tried and failed (pretty sucky)
Naruto- he was shunned just for having the Kyubi inside him, though he didn't ask for that to happen
Sasuke- His whole clan was slaughtered by his own brother YIKES

ok, i'm a girl but i refuse to be acknowledged as a stereotypical female who sympathises "good looking guys".
c'mon, the worst person must have been haku! he had a ok life with his mum and dad, but due to his mum having some sort of shinobi blood in her, haku's dad kills her in front of him and then attempts to murder him. to defend himself, haku killed his dad- now that must make ANYONE guilty for life, especially a pure dude like him..
