Justice League movie cancelled, your reaction to the news?!

Question: 'Variety' announced on the 16th of this month that the live action movie project based on the Justice League has been shelved indefinately, partially due to the writers strike and partially due to personal problems of the prospective director, Frank Miller. A possibility that the film might still be made (possibly with a rewritten script, or possibly with a new script) exists, but the film wouldn't be ready to play in theaters for at least three years even if it was given the go ahead anytime this year.

I'm curious to how many are disappointed to learn the Justice League film probably won't ever see the light of day. How many of you were looking forward to the film, and how many others don't really care one way or another?

It's a shame that is was cancelled as it would have been the first chance a DC comic group would have had at the big screen and I certainly hope that at some time it does get a chance to get made.

Though if Miller was going to be the director it might be a blessing it got cancelled. I've never been a big fan of his. That plus they would have needed other actors probably to play Batman and Superman(since the rumors were the actors who play them in their own films wouldn't have been in this one) it just wouldn't be the same.

I didnt know there was gonna be a Justice League movie i would of gone and seen it to bad its not happening

Writer or Director aside, I think the most difficult part is to choose the right casts to be those superheroes. No people want to see a "B" grade Justice League movie in the end. Like they did for the TV movie in 1997....

I'm glad it was cancelled. w/ the exception of Adam Brody
and Common the rest of the cast are "unknown" actors. The movie would either hit or miss and you can't take a chance like that.(not now) Marvel was lucky w/ The X-Men movies but w/ The Fantastic Four.... I think they dropped the ball big time. Is Warner Bros. willing to take a chance on a group of lesser known actors, who most likley can't act? Adam Brody is a good actor...but they could get someone better and I've only seen Common in American Gangster, and his role in that was very limited, and why was that?.....maybe he wasn't a strong enough actor to warrant any "real screen" time and his skills as a rapper is what got him the role. If they're not going to make this movie 100% CGI, like I was hoping they would do, they should at the very least get a stronger director and most important..... a stronger cast.

Do you how long the list of projects which are "shelved indefinitely" is? MILES long. Never actually believe a movie is going to come out, or get hyped up for it, until you see a poster in a lobby.

And Frank Miller as director? HAHAHAHA. That's idiotic. The guy can write a good (if insane) Batman, but he's lost it these days, exvrpt when it comes to writing hyper violent books about anarchists like Sin City and All Star Batman

I am disappointed, but I'm not at all surprised. This project has had problems from the start. Oh, well. There's still Iron Man and Dark Knight for comics fans to look forward to.
