Dattebayo, the ending Naruto uses gives an image of a strong-will kid who is trying to get his point/opinion across. It is truly Naruto-ish, because he’s been struggling to get attention from others and to have them recognize him. When he ends sentences with this ending, it gives the power to whatever he said, makes it a bit aggressive.

People don’t use this ending normally, unless they’re a Naruto fan. Also, using this ending makes it sound somewhat childish.

Anyway, one thing to remember is the Japanese language is a language of “feeling”. People use some words because it “sounds cool”, it conveys the feeling. Also, a beautiful sentence is not a sentence with correct grammar. It’s a sentence that sounds beautiful, gives a beautiful image.

Jeez CRYBoT, get with the program ;)

EDIT: LOL! CRYBoT, did you really think I meant "Get with the program"? Aww, don't sweat it, I was only teasing you ^_^ You know how I do XD

it's a catch phrase
it's only an ending to a word to make it sound more specific
in the american dubbed he says believe it instead of dattebayo
but that's not what it means

Its basically like believe it. and what Jazmin said, though I didnt read it all.

kishimoto, the creator of naruto, wanted to give naruto a little saying at the end of his speech to make him sound more childish, and the first thing that came to mind was "dattebayo".
japanese children often add little phrases at the end of their speech.

by the way, your amv scared the crap out of me because i've been listening to that daft punk song all afternoon, no joke. and i love that fight, too, it's one of my favorites. especially how gai can't remember who kisame is. XD

because its COOL!
jump on the bandwagon if you want.........
