oh wow! that was really intersting! really!
i would definitely read it!
ah! just reading the synopsis of it had my stomach tingling!!!

you should definitely publish it! that is the type of genre i love to read the most ^^

i also write manga-novels (i draw short stories too ^^)
i'm very particular with what i read, and what i say is "good".... i'm actually extremely picky and a give harsh critiques..... but this was seriously interesting!!

good luck!! i hope you publish it! i would be the first tp buy it!!!

gambatte!

EDIT: to HCB: it is called a manga novel because it is like a manga only in a novel format with insert pics that are like manga pages so that we can get a better sense of the characters/setting and so it can have a more "manga-like" feel. an example of this would be "cold sleep" by narise konohara and illustrated by nanao saikawa.

I'm not really sure why you're calling it a manga novel. Will there be many pages of pure text interspersed with a few drawings that take up entire pages too? Even in Japan, those are considered novels. Maybe the term you were looking for is graphic novel?

Anyway, I took a look at that link you posted. Your story sounds rather epic. Assuming you'd want fewer pages, it may be difficult to narrate the story in a satisfying manner within that limit. Have you finished the story, and also worked out how many pages each scene would take?

One thing is for sure; you'd need a proofreader to clean up the grammar and spelling. I'm not sure how important you rate those, but I think incorrect grammar and spelling hampers (or at the very least, distracts) the readers' enjoyment, even in pure manga.

As for publishing, you may want to make a web site that introduces the final product to see how great the demand is. Perhaps a few pages could be posted to act like a movie teaser. Have people e-mail you if they're interested in buying or ordering it.

Edited to add (to Light's Kira): In the example you listed, even the publisher calls it "Yaoi Novel" on the cover, and not manga novel. In the two or three customer reviews listed on Amazon's page for that product, none of them referred to it as a manga novel as well. Just plain "novel" was used. And if I'm correct, here are more examples that you would call manga novels? http://www.tokyopop.com/shop/novels/brow...

I'm afraid I don't quite agree with your description "that we can get a better sense of the characters/setting", since novels should be already good at conveying all that to the readers. Otherwise, that speaks volumes about the quality of the writing. Any illustrations are simply bonuses, icing on the cake; complementary, but not absolutely necessary.

Pardon my nitpicking, but I like knowing why people use the terms that they do, and I do believe in subtle distinctions even between terms like yaoi and shounen ai (since, y'know, there *are* people who think they mean the same thing).

i like it, and if you love to do it, then you should.
dont let anyone tell you cant do it,
i would love to read the rest and i hope you do well....

i hate it when people use incorrect terms, u should really call it a novel, not a manga novel, b/c manga doesn't have a whole bunch of pages with words on them with a few pictures here and there, that's what we call a novel, another thing that i really hate is when people use inc correct grammar and spellings, if its a raft draft fine but if ur going to present this to people u should try to make sure everything is proper otherwise a big time publisher's not going to take u very seriously, the plot sounded okay, but what's the significance of the swords? do they have special powers or something, and why would the other planets want to kill him for finding a sword? i know this kind of sounds harsh but a a fellow writer/artist u need to have this stuff defined, there are some websites that just opened up that allows u to publish ur own stories for free, oh one last piece of advice, try not to make it sound like it's already been done before
