Answers: Anastasia is NOT a disney movie!
Sorry Im just surprised! =O

when I first saw the movie... I thought it was... had the cover in front of me to see who was doing voices (thought I recognized some) and was as shocked as you appear now to see it was not disney.... they do so many of the bigger titles and princess favorites it is always just assumed... lol.. I still forget at times to give credit where it is due for this movie.... and lump Anastasia in with the disney princesses.....

but that does not call for rudeness...

holliskaty, please... not as good? umm... in your opinion! (maybe other people) please do NOT state it as a fact... the casting was great... the story (based on fact) was believeable.... the songs/music was great! hhmmm... HEY! my opinion... lol... not only disney can put out good musical/princess animation.. geez.... that was fairly rude of you...

20th century fox, Katie... yes... you were right.

alex.. like the look! it works... ;> not universal though... why didn't your link come as a link.... here it is again... in case anyone wanted it?!

geez again holliskaty.... that was not a very nice thing to say.... or way to... she was/is in shock that it is not done by disney... so obviously? it must be "as good as" << maybe even better than>> what disney would do... huh...

Anastasia is an American Academy Award-nominated animated feature musical film produced and directed by Don Bluth and Gary Goldman at Fox Animation Studios, and was released on November 14, 1997 by Twentieth Century Fox.

MORTIE THE DOOMED??? hello... yeah you.... right above me there saying dreamworks??
that is part of paramount...

NOT 20th century fox....

DreamWorks' animation arm was spun-off in 2004, into DreamWorks Animation SKG. Its films are distributed worldwide by Paramount, but the animation studio remains independent of Paramount/Viacom.

Fox Animation Studios was a short-lived traditional animation studio, a division of 20th Century Fox, headed by Don Bluth and Gary Goldman. The department was designed to compete with Walt Disney Feature Animation, which had phenomenal success in the early-1990s with the releases of Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King.

The studio's output was not as successful as the Disney films were. Only one of its two theatrical releases, Anastasia, turned a profit. The other theatrical Fox Animation Studios production, Titan A.E., made only USD$9,376,845 in its opening weekend—on an estimated budget of $75,000,000—and the studio was shut down as a result.

The only other Fox Animation Studios production was Bartok the Magnificent, a direct-to-video sequel to Anastasia. The studio also did credited clean-up animation on DreamWorks' The Prince of Egypt. Bluth and Goldman were considered to produce Ice Age as a traditionally animated feature, but passed on the script.

Today, Blue Sky Studios serves as the animation producer for 20th Century Fox.

Yeah, it's from Universal (I think.)

Well...I knew that (I'm a big Disney fan), but people do often mistake it for a Disney movie, so you're not alone. It is one of my favorite non-Disney animated movies, though.

it's dreamworks

I'm surprised too

Oh my gosh I know! I hate it when people are all like ANASTASIA IS MY FAVORITE DISNEY MOVIE! And I'm just like NO! NO IT'S FOX NOT DISNEY! I actually did used to think it was Disney though and I was totally surprised because I own the movie and it's said on the back of the box that Fox produced it and I was just like whoah that's news to me!

No, I'm not surprised. I knew that...it's Fox animation I think...or Dreamworks.
