Orochi is an 8 headed snake well known in Japanese legends maru means absolutely nothing like Dattebayo of naruto!

I know that Shippuden means "Hurricane Chronicles," and also that maru doesn't really mean anything. As for Orochi, I really have no idea. I assume it has something to do with snakes since that's what most of Orochimaru's jutsus deal with.
