Do you think Dragon Ball Z is the greatest anime ever?!

Question: I think DBZ is the best because they have the most intense fighting action and the best humor and most funny scenes of any anime ever.

Answers: I think DBZ is the best because they have the most intense fighting action and the best humor and most funny scenes of any anime ever.

Nope. I've seen many with far more intense action and many with humor that puts DBZ's to shame. Everything DBZ has done, something else I've seen has done it ten times better. Plot, character development, originality, you name it. I've seen the entire series, beginning to end, and it doesn't even rank among my top 100 favorite/best anime.

And here come the thumbs down from the DBZ lovers because my taste in anime is *GASP* different from theirs...

Yes, there is no best anime, it's all a matter of opinion! I have been saying this for years, and I'm glad there are people out there who think the same way. Thank you for respecting my opinion, and I respect yours. To be honest, years ago, I was a big fan of DBZ! Report It

  • YES, It is the first anime I ever saw and will always remain my fave

    Heck Yeah!!
Dbz is like the anime everyother anime tries to copy
    its simply the best
    the story
    the art
    the humor
    the action
    let alone the character development
just think how long it took to come up with characters like cell and frieza!!

Yes I agree absolutely. I have the whole bunch of the collection series it made me laugh tense happy etc everytime I read those. Great.

    Heck yes

I never really liked it, I hated the way they drew the characters and the colors. And whats up with their fusing technique dance thing?? And I have seen way more intense fighting scenes than DBZ

Far from it. In its day it was quite good, but it has aged horribly. It also went downhill quite a bit towards the end. After the Cell saga it wasn't very good. Power levels were just rediculous (given that freiza can destroy a planet and everybody who comes after is much more powerful)

The fighting is made up largely of panning cameras and light flashes. 5 minutes can be stretched accross 6 episodes (final fight v/freiza). The whole story is essentially: new guy shows up, beats the crew up, they go train and return to beat the new guy up.

Bleach is better, though that is not to say it doesn't suffer from many of the same problems as DBZ. Also swords>not swords.

No, i think that show is boring and the humor is so...eck. Boring!

I can't say it is. There's other anime series out there with superior storylines.

But DBZ will always hold a special place with me, as it was the first anime I watched regularly. The fighting is cool, but towards the end of DBZ in the Buu Saga, it was all about huge energy attacks instead of martial arts like in Dragonball. The Cell Games was the last part of DBZ I really liked, besides Goku VS Pikkon in other world (which IMO is the best fight on DBZ ever since it was dead even)...

And Dragonball GT was disappointing. Probably because Akira Toriyama didn't write it. -shrugs-

As far as humor goes, I think there are some that are funnier. But don't get me wrong, DBZ is one of the greatest of our time.

As far as fighting anime goes, I like Yu Yu Hakuho the most. It was more unique and the plot was very interesting.

It used to be the best, many people still like it, i like it still myself, but modern anime's have come out that are better such as : Naruto (jap versions with eng sub), Bleach (jap, eng sub), and some olders ones are cool still. here is a list of all the good animes ive ever watched:

Naruto , Bleach , FLCL , Inuyasha , DBZ , Eureka 7 , Death note , thos are some of them. eureka seven is good only if you watch the whole thing, its hard to get into otherwise.

Ps. for watching any good anime series i suggest (veoh.com) and download there (veoh TV).

YES, it's a classic. It's the anime that started it all.

yes of course you can not call your self a true otaku if you don't love DBZ or DBZ GT it is one of the first animes ever
