Anime fans, we need cartoons in our lives.......?!
Question: If we don't have cartoons we got nothing to talk trash about, we'd have nothing to compare the superior anime shows to crappy inferior american/european animation. If we didnt have cartoons what can we point our fingers at and say 'this sucks!!!'?
it's like the saying there can't be a heaven if there's no hell, there's no good if there's no bad, in this case the cartoons are bad and the anime are good.

I watch both cartoons and anime, because it's not the style that attracts me to a show, it's the plot and characters. There are some pretty crappy anime shows too. powerpuff girls is technically an anime, and I can't stand it. The voices scrape my eardrums. personally I can't sit through an episode of DBZ without falling asleep from all the waiting for something to happen.
I'm remember Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pichu (or whatever) and how lame the plot was. honestly, mermaid princesses? Jeez...
It's not that we need cartoons to brag about how great anime is, because there are some great cartoons that beat out anime too.
Avatar, the last airbender is one. Being an american-made show, it is not classified as anime, even though the styles are simlier, and it's been in the top 5 shows on tv.com for a while now. Danny Phantom is hilarious with the puns. Samurai Jack is amazing in the world he adventures in. Venture Brothers keeps me rolling for HOURS!
I would much rather watch a show because I liked it, whether cartoon or anime, then just because it's a certain genre.
