In episode #137 we find out ash's dad is incarcerated on molestation charges, thus leaving lasting effects on ash and preventing his inability to ever mature and become a real pokemon master
well, if they keep coming out with different versions of pokemon, no he wont become a pokemon master, unless they decide to end the tv series and keep going with the video games.
