A funny and carefree anime/manga?!
Question: Something like fruits basket, gakuen alice, ouran high host club...it shouldn't be overly romantic...it shouldn't be about sports...apart from that, I prefer a good artwork/smooth animation and that's about it. Ah, and you really don't have to necessarily stick to shoujo-genre...originally I only used to watch/read shonen so I don't mind a good fight or lots of blood...but all my favorites have gotten so gloomy and emo lately and cuz my life right now isn't that happy, I need something fun and heartwarming...I love to laugh, so, any suggestions?

Fushigi Yuugi by Yuu Watase. It's a few years old, but the artwork is beautiful. If you look at the manga, the strokes are good. The story is great. Drama, comedy, action, mystery, etc. all in one series. The story is funny and heartwarming. It's about a normal girl who finds a book and becomes a character inside the story. She's transported into ancient China and befriends the most unusual people. She doesn't believe she'll pass her exam and instead finds herself the only hope for peace for an entire world. The story tells about friendship, love,hate, revenge, and all the other great problems. This is definitely one anime anyone shouldn't miss the chance to see.
"Full Metal Panic!"
The anime is about a guy that comes to a High School to be undercover and protect this one girl. He was raised in the military and has no clue. He is one great military guy but as far as social skills...
It's really hilious and makes me laugh non stop. I feel sorry for him because the girl he comes to protect often beats him up for being stupid... like exploding... a locker... or attacking things that he thinks may be a threat.
"Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu" is the 2nd season. It's really funny as well. Some people say it's funnier then the first... and I can't say I disagree. That season is a filler and has little serious plots.
But I suggest you start with "Full Metal Panic!" then go to "Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu"
You can’t go wrong with “Full Metal Panic!”
It’s one of my favorite amines. One that isn’t stupid, which I think is rare when looking for a show with humor. And you can just sit back and laugh.
