They are rebooting the series to make Spider man more relateable to newer fans. Don't know many kids who want to buy Spider man and read about his marital problems. Marvel took the easy way out by "erasing" the past 15 years or so but next year at this time nobody will remember this. He not only ends up single he is young again living at home with his aunt. When you have a character that has been around 40 years they are always looking for ways to mix things up and the marriage was one way but the brass feels it's run it's course and it's time to move on.
Yes, in his most recent storyline Peter and MJ are no longer married, he doesn't recall being married, etc.
