On the Simpsons, did they ever cop to the name of state where Springfield reside!

Question: There were published reports that say that Matt Groening revealed that the Springfield in the Simpsons is based off of Springfield and Beaverton, Oregon. He even sent a plaque to the Mayor of Springfield, OR signed "to the real Springfield".

The Springfield from the Simpsons is fictional though and cannot possibly be located in any one state (unless you know of a state that borders Ohio, Nevada, Maine and Kentucky) and I doubt it will ever actually be stated on the show which state it is supposed to be in.

No, they don't want to get in trouble for it. Basically, all we know is that it's in the US, and that West springfield is 3x the size of Texas, so they're obviously making it impossible to be in any state. Sorry.

Springfield, Massachusetts!!!

nope they never gonna let you know

Illionis

Yes they did. In The Simpsons Movie they named the nearby states. However they named about a half dozen or so states all of which have a springfield in them.
