Is the anime Romeo x Juliet the same as the William Shakespears story?!
Question: Well Im going to read Romeo and Juliet in my english soon, and I was wondering if the story line in the anime the same as in the story written by WIlliam Shakespears.

no they are totally different,except for the tragic ending.
- in the real story of romeo and juliet, they died because romeo drank poison, and juliet stabbed herself.
-in the anime they died, because they sacrificed thirslves to save neo verona
-in the real story mercutio was romeo's best friend, not benvolio(but he's also a friend of romeo)
-hermione wasn't included as romeo's fiance i think it was rosalita(on the real story)
-juliet isn't a kick butt anime girl, in the real story
-the anime is fantasy, while the real story is not.
those are just point outs on how they are completely different.
