He is the Green Goblin but is referred to as the "New Goblin" in the movie. in the original comics he was merely the second person to become the Green Goblin. The Hobgoblin is a different villain who's real identity is Roderick Kingsley. The hobgoblin looks just like the green goblin but is yellow and has a hood.

Harry is not the Hobgoblin, as that villian has not been introduced yet (and is not an Osborne). The Hobgoblin is given the 'goblin gear' by the Kingpin (see Daredevil) once he takes over Osborne Industries.
Harry is the Green Goblin. I have heard him referred to as the new goblin but not in the movie.

he is the Hobgoblin........ the new spider-man 3 movie took its own spin and version of the comic book...... the way the spiderman movie series went was totally wrong...... venom did not come to earth on a meteor.

In Spider-Man 3, Harry Osborn, still obsessed with taking revenge on Spider-Man, has finally taken up the mantle of the Green Goblin. Though unnamed in the film, the character is referred to as the New Goblin in the credits.

He essentially is Green Goblin II just like in the comics, but the writers or producers (I forget which) didn't want to have two characters named Green Goblin so they renamed him New Goblin.
Hobgoblin is a different character. There have been five (at least) different people that have portrayed Hobgoblin in the comics and none of them is/was an Osborn.
