It's a show about a conservative republican father who works for the CIA with a vapid blonde housewife. They have a liberal daughter and a conservative son. They also live with a gay alien and a fish that talks. They have 2 gay neighbors
It's about a CIA agent that addicted to his job, too much of a patriot and do random stupid things because of it. His son is a geek donno about the wife and daughter and they have an alien that lives in their house and he talk with the fish. I only watched a couple of episodes but it seems more interesting than family guy
no,american dad is about a cia agent (stan),and his family wifey (francine), daughter(????) son(steve) roger the alien and kluase the talking fish and stan is smarter than family guy but hes stupider personality wise ...huh turns out i do know this show.
1. An inept father who is an overly zealous patriotic American and CIA agent.
2. It is by the same people... that is about as close as it gets.
3. It has been getting better lately, but it is really poor in comparison to Family Guy.

I prefer family guy. American Dad does have its moments those.
