The first time he smiled was when he and Naruto were searching for Sasuke (after Team 7 released Sai from his room, captured Kabuto, and went back afterwards). That time Naruto was still recovering from his injuries after he entered his Kyuubi Cloak state not long ago, and seeing poor Naruto, Sai helped him and told him to relax a bit.
Sai later commented how Naruto resembled his dead "brother", with his determination, low dignity and p****less 8D, as he held his drawing book. Later he remembered something, drew the last picture in the book, and smiled. He said that he "finally remembered what he wanted to draw... a picture of their dreams." He seemed to smile bitterly, but whatever, because it was his first, genuine smile after all!

yes he have, when naruto explained to him what bond is, his bond with sasuke. and then sai remembered the last picture in his book, the last picture is... sai and his brother holding hands.
Oh yeah o lot! After the Sasuke thingy mission Sai, Naruto and Sakura become good friends and Sai reads books about socializement
