When they were children, Gin saved Rangiku from starvation and they have been friends ever since. She is one of the few people that Gin even truly cares about. He even gave her a birthday since she told him she could not remember what it was when he asked her. He told her it should be the day they met. =)
They are old friends. Well they have known each other since they were little. When MAtsumoto was traveling by herself, she collasped and Gin saved her.
