Question: I just want to see if anyone here has even basic knowledge of golden age comic books.

Can you name one defunct publishing company which produced comic books anytime between 1936 and 1955?
(DC and Marvel are not defunct publishing companies.)

For '38 I'll say Superman
For '39 I'll say the original Human Torch, and the Sub-Mariner. I'll argue the original Captain Marvel (issue dated February 1940) because of lead times but I'm willing to lose that one.
Of course for defunct publishing companies I'll say Fawcett and argue EC even if that one has been absorbed into DC (Fawcett lost a copyright suit to DC a few decades before the latter bought their catalogue).
