Question: i rember a boy being followed around by a metal dinosour looking thing. it was set in the desert, and he was on a military base a least once. the metal thing was silver/white and whould absorbe in to his big wheapon durring battles. i think it had red eyes, please help.

Are you sure you're not thinking of Starriors? There wasn't a boy, but it was in the desert and there was a big metal dinosaur with red eyes...
