I'm 53, I read comics. How could you be too old? Only if you get too old to see, I suppose, or too old to understand what you see.

Comics are fantastic and although many people are kids when they get into them IMO you have to be an adult to REALLY appreciate the astonishing artwork and fantastic story lines.
You're never too old. The people who write them are probably older than you are. My son is 26 and still reads them, not as much as he did when he was younger, but, he hasn't lost interest in them. Don't worry about it!
There is a Cult for this all over the World,I dont think you are to Old.In Dublin there is Magazine Shops Dedicated to These Comics and all Adults are in there Buying them.It started about 12Years ago when Someone Discovered there was a Market for marvel Comics and Others like it and opened a Shop now there are several. It seems to be mostly up to 30 Year olds indulging in this ,some are Collectors and some who just like Reading them.

I am into manga/anime and i asked myself the same question for some time, specially since I had my friends telling me that manga and anime is for little kids... so I was self conscious for a while until I realized that it takes real strength to accept your passion.... I mean as long as it is PART of your life and Not your life, why would you give up something you like? for the convenience of others? just live your life and be happy!!
The people who started reading comics in the 1940's, 50's, and 60's are still reading them today. That is why there is such a strong back-issue market today. It is not little kids who are paying hundreds of dollars a piece for comics from the silver and golden ages, it's adults with steady jobs and families. I am 35 and have been reading comics since I was 5 years old. I never plan on quitting them. There are many famous people who still read them as well. Actor Nick Cage, Rock star Gene Simmons of KISS, Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy, and MANY others. You are never too old for comics.
