Teen Titans and Batman are owned by DC comics who are part of Warner Brothers. Warner Brothers make the Teen Titans cartoon is based on a DC comic book that has been around in one form or another since 1964.

If that were true, they would have been taken off the air a long time ago and the creator would be sued. Teen Titans, like Batman and Robin, is a cartoon based on a comic book.

It's not a copy at all. Both Teen Titans and Batman and Robin are owned by D.C. comics. They can put those characters into any media they wish and it isn't copying it and isn't plagiary because...well, they own those characters.

The same Robin in Teen Titans appears in Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, and in the comic books (to begin with).

Short answer? The characters are owned by the same company. They give rights to the characters to make games/shows/comics. The story line may change, but they can use their characters in whichever way they come up with and it isn't illegal.
