When do u think the x-men comics were the best?!
Question: What era/time did u think X-men comics were the best, meaning like what decade (60s,70s,80s,90s, or today) and what part of the decade (like late 90s or early 80s, etc.)

late 80s & into the 90s was my favorite time period, tho the introduction of Shadowcat is a high point of the slightly earlier books.
Claremont as writer!!! (unfortunately, some of his plots were lost in the scramble & even he didn't know where some of them were going) Decent art, too--Davis, Adams, etc.
Excalibur--Claremont & Davis. Best ever. That's what hooked me in to the X-books. They lost me when Morrison & Quitely (sp?) came in.
They were funny without minimizing the troubles. Excellent inter-person relationships, & just the right amount of cosmic-flavored adventures, without overdoing the clone/alternate timeline/time-travelling stuff.
60's for sure.
'70's period was the best, IMHO. The introduction of the new team of X-Men after the old team was captured made all the difference, as the original team seemed rather flat and 2d. This team had much more depth and grit than the old team did -- which holds true today, as the movies that were out recently were based on these same characters.
As to newer periods, I really can't say I liked them as much, as they were nearly impossible to read due to all the cross-over titles. At the time I went from spending $10/month on my favorite titles to spending over $100/month, just to follow the storyline. I finally gave up on buying comics altogether for this very reason.
from the 90's to now with the new young x-men.
The Uncanny X-Men period from the Morlock Massacre to the Fall of the Mutants. It's the X-Men at their best willing to sacrifice their very existence to save a world that fears and protects them - the very essence of being an X-Man.
And they did all die.
