Does anyone else wanna smack Misa from Death Note?!

Question: Whether it's her excessive attention whoring, referring to herself in the third person, to the air-headed constant whining, I think she alone has lowered the good quality of Death Note one full point out of 10.

Me!

Misa-chan gets on my nerves. In the beginning she almost screwed over Light with her messages as "Kira". And then when she was caught as the second Kira, Light had to devise that whole plan about giving up the Death Note and then siding with L and retrieving the Death Note and his memories.... he should be thankful that he's a genius or his whole "new world" idea would have gone down the toilet.

Seriously Misa needs to get over Light. She gave up half her fricking life twice for the Shinigami eyes all to help Light. "I'll do anything for Light-kun... anything for his love" Jeez give it a rest already... The only time she was excessively useful was when she got that guy to tell her that he was Kira. But that was also with Rem's help though.

Although after all that I kind of feel sorry for her -- she did everything for Lights love and he treats her like shyt...

Edit: I agree with riZi, Misa did add comedy! And ya in a way, the appearance of her character did tie the show together.

Hahahaha! xD
Don't hate on Misa!
but yeah, L is better thats all i gotta say..
and yeah i kinda do wanna smack her in the face! lol

Haha... yeh some times I wanna kick her shins just because she manages to jeoperadis Light's plans and sometimes L's.

But no, since there is a stupid charachtor intangled with the main plot of the story, it gives Death Note more suspence. Imagin the posibilities the stupid Misa can ruine Kira's plan and give him up to Light (especially when She met Ryuzaki first time)

I also believe if Misa is not in the story the entire story line would've been different, i.e. a different ending. Then Light has to find L's name by himself and I even think Light might not have such a horible death if Misa was not involved at all.

But Misa's adition made the series more interesting and ofcourse she gave some comedy in to it.

Yes, throughout the entire manga and anime I wanted to smack her on multiple occasions. Although I will definitely disagree about lowering the quality of the series. I believe she was a vital role, and without her, Light may not have gotten as far as he did. But her entire persona is that of of innocence in contrast to Light in a way. The referring to herself in the third person is something common of children in Japan. And everything she did, whether she really helped or hindered Light was, in her mind, out of love. She had her smart moments, but she was nowhere near as crafty as Light, and missed many details. Although I always wondered if she realized Light didn't love her and was only using her but just didn't care at all because she loved him, or that she really didn't realize it, even through all the signs.

Okay. And posting a dumb "question" like this isn't attention-whoring? At least Misa had ambition. Pretending to have a question so you can bash a cartoon character is just a new low in lame.

Also, the third-person thing was just rotten translations for the dub dialogue, YET AGAIN. They did this to Cheza in Wolf's Rain, too. Yes, the characters do talk that way in Japanese, but those speech patterns make sense in Japanese. Referring to yourself in the third person in Japanese is considered humble (and therefore cute) because pronouns referring to the self are thought of as egotistical. This does NOT translate into English.

Airing Death Note in English just brought the fanbase down five points.

yeah, lol, I wanna beat her and chop her fingers, she's so annoying "I'll do everything for lighto-kun" my foot, aaahhh...
