Why does America have to dub all animes?!

Question: I say america because I really dont know the dubbing companies. Anyways the way the companies dub sucks. They delete every little small thing that has meaning such as some japenese names that that have meanings and they americanize the names.WTF? Anyways the dubbing sucks. The end.

Remember, American companies want the animes to be accessible to all age-groups, which is why they dub -- little kids and lazy older kids can't read that well. This is also why they censor out animes -- so they don't shock the kids. That is something I personally despise, however, as kids are more intelligent than people give them credit for. Plus, they always have other family members to ask about stuff if they don't quite understand....

I also agree that dubbing has royally sucked in the past, but I'm happy to say that they're slowly getting better. I saw some dubs of Ah! My Goddess and .Hack//Roots, and I was rather impressed by both titles, so there is hope!

NOT ALL OF THEM, THINK OF NARUTO OR DRAGON BALL Z. oK POKEMON IS A LITTLE SAD BUT MAYBE IT IS BECAUSE THE TRANSLATERS ORR WHATEVER DONT KNOW IF LITTLE CHLIDERN CAN UNDER STAND WHAT SO AND SO'S NAME IS...

Because a lot of people do not speak Japanese?

Yeah, you're right. The americans tend to make the animes "for kids", simple "cartoons" losing some subtle, beautiful meanings of the words.

It happens alot.
A Polish friend of mine says the the title for "Die Hard" is called Skyscraper.
Guess what they call Die Hard 2? Skyscraper 2.
But there's no Skyscraper! in Die Hard 2.
We agree that this is messed up, so I know where you are coming from.

cause no one likes to read

american people don't speak Japaneses and they enjoy all the animes because they are funny. I like watching naruto in Dub or subbed

i agree with you and lady bug. i mean.... there are alot of things in animes that they cut out... which really sucks for the people who have to watch it on T.V. though... i like watching anime on the tv too...

i can put up with certain things... but wow!! have you ever seen "angel sanctuary" dubbed? ewww!!
i still watch death note on saturdays on adult swim (ive seen the whole subbed series) omg!! i almost start to cry when I hear L's voice!!

not only do they cut things out, but sometimes the voice over acting is just horribe!! there are very few shows that i can say "the dubbed version is awesome!"

its like, if its an action anime why are you cuttig out all the gore and blood?? thats the reason why were gonna watch it!!

its a lot better than the regular tv shows some kids watch these days!

ah.... sorry... i rambled ^^"

but i agree with you ^^ subs rock!!

i have no idea. dub sucks.

If you do not like dubs, then don't watch it. It's as simple as that. Voice actors in America have to make a living and I am all for them. It's better than having nothing being shown in the U.S.

Because some people are to lazy to read the subs.
