Question about Avatar the Last Airbender????!

Question: in the episode just shown (day of the black sun pt 1 &2), the firebenders had no power because of the solar eclipse (when the sun was clouded by the moon). but if thats the case, then why don't they lose their power at night when the suns not showing at all?

I'm guessing that because the sun is still present during the night, just on the other side of the world, but the firebender do become weaker during night time and get stronger during the day when the sun is more actively present (book 1 chapter 19 zuko says "you rise with the moon i rise with the sun"). Just like waterbenders get stronger at night. However this leads me to believe also that waterbenders would lose their powers during a lunar eclipse

Because the earth is round and the sun always shines on some of it... That's my guess anyway.

Well, i am just guessing, but maybe because the moon reflects the sun's light, and that gives them power. but that's a good question...

may guess is because the sun is still there but at another side of the world, like the waterbenders being able to bend in the day and with the solar eclipse the sun is completely covered there is on source of sun light available
