No, but his spirit does show up in the final episode to protect Miaka (along with the other deceased seishi). Later he shows up again (as a spirit) in the OAVs and in FY: Eikoden it is revealed that he has been reincarnated as a little girl and lives next door to a little boy who houses Hotohori's reincarnated soul.
