Answers: ...to release Song of the South (original uncut) on DVD?

This was one of the best movies they ever made....

No. Some sensitive soul would get his/her panties in a bunch, then Jesse and Al would get on the free publicity gravy train.

probably not..... damn you walter!!

no. there's so many people against it that i don't see it happening.

It really was one of the best and I can only hope, like you, that they find the plums to do so!

Walt Disney is dead you fool.

So continue to question his "guts".

Its available in Japan.

I honestly don't think so. Despite the fact that it's movie gold and an absolute classic, the racism and stereotypes are too prominent to avoid criticism today. However, Disney loves money, and no Disney fan's collection is complete without Song of the South.

nope even doe they should there money making is within the kids market i was surprised wen they signed vannessa anne hudgens for hsm 3 after she posed nude in a picture

It seems that in recent years the have been considering releasing it (I don't know in what form, cut or un-cut) but they are not planning to at the present moment.
BTW, the company is usually called Disney, although the proper name for it is The Walt Disney Company. However, saying "Walt Disney" without adding "Company" is usually a reference to the man himself.

no, once a classic, never repeated

Walt Disney died in the 60s, his guts have turned to dust by now. I'm sure if he were still alive today, that movie would still be released on DVD.

The PC movement has gotten so out of hand that most of the cartoons have been hidden or edited for content.

I own the Disney Treasures collection of Silly Symphonies in DVD. The box said they were unedited and restored...but amazingly, the Jewish peddler scene was completely cut from The Three Little Pigs. I felt robbed.

The Tom & Jerry Spotlight collections are the best examples of censorship. The first two sets were heavily edited, customers complained and Warner Home Video offered a trade in....the sent out unedited cartoons for the edited discs. Everything was great, everyone was happy...untill the third volume came out....one cartoon was edited and two cartoons were completely omitted because of content...leaving collectors without a complete collection.
