Anyone out there know what happened to that Japanese cartoon called Star Raiders!
Question: It used to be on TV MORE than 20 years ago, and my suspicion is that it was ten years old already when it aired during my childhood. The story was about how we earthlings transformed the battleship Yamamoto from a sunken wreck into a space ship, and the ship went around battling with this other species called the Gamalons! It sounds SO corny now, but it was wonderful for to watch at the age of ten, 11, or 12. Google searches haven't yielded me anything remotely close to this! Any help is appreciated.

well, the name of the show is Starblazers or Space Battleship Yamato. Yeah it ended a while ago but you should be able to buy it from amazon.com, Best Buy, AnimeNation.

Actually, you might have more success under Star Blazers, not Star Raiders It actually spawn 3 seperate series, all a year long. I loved that show too.

I too am a fan. There were three separate series and I believe 5 feature length movies but the latter were never released in the United States. There are plans to make it into a live action movie based on the Quest for Iscandar.
