Well, as Daredevil Smith got very little screen time. He got a bit more as Matt Murdock, but he had the disadvantage of being in a really cheesy Hulk movie. I would go with Ben Afflek as well. He catches a lot of flack but I thought he did the best he could with the story he was given. He wasn't very convincing to me as a blind man or a lawyer, but, again, you asked about the best Daredevil not the best Matt Murdock. His action scenes were pretty good and he was able to convey emotions even with the limitations of the mask.
