An absolute masterpeice. Each episode tells a different story. It's a fantasy/drama unlike any you'll ever find. my favorite anime.
If you've ever seen any of Hayao Miyazaki's films (Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky, Howl's Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro, etc,.) there is no doubt that you will enjoy this.
Mushi are neither plants nor animals and their existence and form are unknown by many. Ginko, a Mushi-shi, travels around to uncover the mysteries of the Mushi. As he investigates, he helps people who struggle with problems caused by these mysterious creatures.

Gakuen Alice (Alice Academy), Pretear, Loveless, and Ouran High School Host Club are some anime shows that I recommend. I'm not sure if they suit your tastes, but I liked them! ^^
