New to anime, a good anime to start off with?!
Question: no offense naruto lovers but that looks really boring. anything thats not too known or anything? i want a good impression on anime. so im looking for something that is generally romance and drama. suggestions?

Okie dokie, if you're new to anime and you want to make a good impression on anime (and into romance) you have got to really check out the big romance titles!

Inuyasha is pretty good but sometimes you want to yell at the characters for being so stupid!!
BTW I thought Naruto looked stupid too but I saw an episode and now I'm hooked!!
One of my first ones was the movie Spirited Away. I really enjoyed it, and it has really pretty music too. The story is interesting and the characters are pretty cool. My first series was Fullmetal Alchemist. I think they're both cool for newbies.

well there is the advewntures of salor moon where theres a superhero that is a girl who has to save the world but hates risking her life because shes in love with this other guy
Berserk is a good series, I've started a couple of people off on that one, and now they're hooked.
Mahoromatic: automatic maiden is my all time favorite. It's cute, and has comedy, but it also has quite a bit of action and is pretty sad at times. I think it would be good for a beginner.

May be a lil' much, but if you want romantic and dramatic.. then that is a good one.
It isn't like hentai, but you don't have to wait 20 episodes for one kiss.
I say watch anime in japanese with english subtitles because english versions often cut out scenes.

Cowboy Bebop is definately one of the best anime out there. Also try my favourite, the one that got me into anime, One Piece!

Try Neon Genesis Evangelion - it's not bad.
Other ones I have tried watching are:
Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040 (don't recall much about it though)
DragonBall Z (I like the between fight episodes because the battles are really drawn out and get boring)
Fruits Basket (I enjoyed this one, my sister put me onto it)
Cardcaptors (Might be considered juvenile by some, but I am known to have immature tastes at times)
Steel Angel Kurumi (Insane but quite funny)
Angelic Layer (Another one my sister put me onto, pretty good one)
Those are just a couple. I have been told that InuYasha and FullMetal Alchemist are good but I haven't seen them so can't comment.
