you have a point..but in the manga it says Obito was killed in the mission, along with Rin (kakashi's teamate) was killed..
well you won't know until they tell us. saying this kind of thing is useless unless there's proof to back it up, and there is no proof until that manga chapter comes out
He could be have a jutsu like orochimaru's to keep him alive. No he has to be about 90 years old because the leaf village has only been around for 60 years.
wait a sec, didn't obito die in 'kakashi gaiden'? If i remember it right he was crushed by rocks pretty badly and had rin replace kakashis damaged eye with his sharingan eye before he died. I think rin was killed on a later mission, although I can't remember reading about it. Anyway, I'm sure that Obito is dead.
jeez someones uptight. I think Madara (Tobi) mastered the immortality jutsu that Orochimaru tried, or a new level of Sharingan does it.

one, Tobi did die, he was crushed by rocks,
two, where did you get 300, the first started Konaha, and that was around 50-100 years, and if Madara really is all great, he could still be alive, and who said he wasn’t old, he just might have a young disposition.
Three, I’ve never heard them say he’s too old to be here, because he’s not, but he is dead, he was KILLED BY ROCKS!.
Four, the mask is to hide Tobi’s identity from those how he does not want to know, it is also the reason for the alias.
Five, he would be the same age as Kakashi, if he was not KILLED BY ROCKS!
Six, he referred to himself as "Madara Uchiha"
If Obito is still alive, he has no eyeballs. They wouldn't have left either of them intact when they thought he died, because that would make it possible for some random ninja who is an enemy of the Leaf to pull out the one Kakashi didn't get and become more powerful. Not something you want to give your enemies.
I'll grant you, it would be odd for Tibo to be Madara, due to age. The First, Second, and Madara all co-founded the Hidden Leaf. But we really don't know how old he was at the time, how old either of the Hokages were at the time, how old either of them were when they died, or how old the Third Hokage was when he was chosen for the job. We can take a pretty safe guess that the Third's been out of retirement for around 15 years when the show starts. But the village could be only about 20 years old, or as much as around 150 years old. But considering that either the Seond or Third Hokage has been alive for the entire existance of the Leaf Village at the start of the show, there's no way it's been 300 years.
I don't see any way for Madara to have become Obito. The Uchiha all lived together in one village. They all knew each other. So how would another Sharingan kid wander into the Leaf area and not raise some suspicions?
I'd be more inclined to think Tobi is either Madara's kid, or someone who was granted Madara's eyes after he died, and is just kinda crazy. Like how there are people in real life who believe they are Abe Lincoln or Napolean.
