The original Mobile Suit Gundam story. I still have the movies on VHS tape that I bought in Japan in 1982 (sadly though, the tape with the 2nd half of MSGII and the tape with MSGIII were stolen)
Bleach, Blood+, Full Moon wo Sagashite, Fullmetal Alchemist, Gakuen Alice (Alice Academy), Kiniro no Corda (La Corda d'Oro), Ouran High School Host Club, Pretear, and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle are my favorites.

I have many, but my number 1 favourite anime is Hunter X Hunter and my current obsession is D.Gray-man... =)
My favorite is the entire Saiyuki series.
Elfen Lied is a most excellent anime series! It's a short series. There is much violence and some nudity but it is all justified by a fantastic plot and endearing characters. I must warn you that it is a sad anime.
