Does Childrens Cartoons give off hidden messages?!
Question: I watched spongebob with my child yesterday....Through the whole show they made comments saying "were going to score tonight' all adults present all assumed this to be perverted....Is this a way to capture all veiwers attentions despite the age? Do cartoons give 2 way street sayings?

Unless a child is told about sexual innuendo, it will go over his head and yes, it's so that a wide age range can enjoy the show.
Of course!! Sponge Bob is notorious for that..there are many...a cute one is "Pucca" Hilarious.. They don't get it anyway so don't worry about it. I used to like Peewee herman and i recently watched it..only now as an adult did I see how dirty it was!

We get stuck watching our children's favorite shows, so yes they have to appeal to all ages. Actually I look forward to cuddling up on the couch with my two and watching some cartoons.
i think people like you think to much about what children see. i do not think there is an episode that involves spongebob getting some so if they say something that you think sounds like something that children wouldnt usually do, you should disregard it because i doubt they know what it means.

Spongebob does have some adult themes. But, Shrek takes the cake. It's supposed to be PG, but they have some really adult stuff, or inappropriate for children. Like in Shrek 2 when they tell Pinnochio to say he's wearing womens underwear, he does, and nothing happens.
But i think if a cartoon is supposed to be for children, then it shouldn't have any perverted undertones to it, even for the parents watching it.
