How was inuyasha's father able to wield the tetsuiga?!

Question: In inuyasha the tetsuiga has a barrier around it which prevents anything besides humans from being able to touch it.(ex. when jaken tried to steal it and got electricuted). But before the tetsuiga belonged to inuyasha it belonged to his father, a full-fledged demon who was able to wield it without harm.(ex. when he used the wingscar in swords of an honorable ruler). How was this so?

Alright, this is my theory. I believe that the barrier was not put on the sword until after his fathers death. It is said in the show that Inuyasha received the Sword To control his demon blood so it wouldn't over power him. Also I think his father wanted Inuyasha to have it to protect human life, because he knew Sesshomaru wouldn't protet human life. But then who knows if his father wasn't immune to the barrier since it was his sword. Nothing was ever been said on how or why the barrier didn't effect his father. In the 4th movie His father is shown using all three of swords. All to save Inuyasha and HIs mother.

No matter how powerful, you had to have the desire to protect humans. His father had the desire to protect Inuyasha's human mother.

he wanted to protect humans and it was his own tooth so how could he not be able to wield it?

ah he never wielded it eh?

Inu-Yasha's father never actually wielded the Tetsusaiga. He had the sword commissioned especially for Inu-Yasha after his fight with the demon that Inu-Yasha killed at the end of Season 2 (can't remember his name) when he sealed it with his claw. Inu-Yasha's father was seriously injured in that fight, and, knowing he didn't have much time left, gave his fangs to Totosai to be made into the Tetsusaiga and Tenseiga (Sesshomaru's sword) so that Inu-Yasha would be able to defend himself against full-blooded demons, and so Inu-Yasha would never be able to kill Sesshomaru with the Tetsusaiga. It is probable that the special properties that Tetsusaiga has, like the fact that it unable to be wielded by full demons, were added to the fang by Totosai at the request of Inu-Yasha's father. Inu-Yasha's father never actually intended to use the Tetsusaiga as he commissioned it especially for Inu-Yasha, and before that, when it was his fang, it was "only" an ordinary demon fang and did not have the special properties that the Tetsusaiga has, so he should not have had any trouble with it then.

He never weilded it, before it was made, it was his own fang. When he died, he had Totosai make it and the Tenseiga.
