My guess is that you're thinking of the word neko which is Japanese for cat.
I think u mean Neko, and its the word for Cat Demon
There used to be a candy called neco or necco which were shaped like small poker chips and were made mostly of sugar and came in a roll like a roll of coins.
I'm not sure if that's what you meant.
