Q.1) There is only a minimum amount of cards you must have in Yu-gi-oh and that's 40 cards, you can have as many cards as you want (once saw a guy with a deck 4 feet tall! lol O_o) although I would advise you to keep the number of cards in your dack a low number(this way you can get to the cards you need faster). Start the game with 5 cards in your hand, once its your turn you draw a card.

Q.2) 2400atk monster Attacks 1500atk monster in attack mode .... 2400-1500=900 ..... subtracted 900 life points from the one who was attacked and the monster that was attacked goes to the graveyard, no damage is taken if the monster attacked is in Defense mode unless the defense is higher then the attacking monster
Example
monster attacks with 2400atk a face down monster.... monster is flipped and you see it has 3000def.... 3000-2400=600 .... attacker takes 600 subtracted from their lifepoints, note: no monster goes to the graveyard if a monster attacks another monster in defense with a higher defense then their attack... the attacker just takes damage.

Q.3) Not only do you shuffle but its stated in the rule book that you can should cut your opponents deck... although its not completely necessary if your just playing friends ^_^.

if you have anymore questions go to the official website and look up the rule book(if you dont' have one already)... think they have a demo on how to play the game if your just begining ^_^.

Q1. i believe its anywhere under 60 cards.

Q2. you and your friend pick a limit usually like 6000 and everytime you take dmg you subtract it from your lifepoints.

Q3. yes

40 or 60 cards to play.4000 life points.yes you do shuffle your deck

Max 60 in deck.
5 in hand.

Whn your opposition attacks one of your cards and his cards attack exceeds your card defence you subtract the defence from the attack and take the total from your lifepoints.

Shuffling is not necissary but it guards against a "stacked" deak. ( A deak designed for optimal play.... All the good cards first)
