Why do so many people this days like anime?!
Question: im not saying that i dont like it i just want to know why, and i want a good answer and not somthing stupid like becuse its cool thats not going to work

i think its appeal is that more and more anime is being introduced to the western market and people are finding that though it is a cartoon it can hold just as much credibility as a regular tv show or drama if not more. In japan Anime is not seen as "cartoons for kids" as it is in America. it is merely another medium for entertainment. Adults of ALL ages watch it just as we watch Desperate Housewives or Law and Order. Also since it is animated the characters can do things not possible in real life with effects that if applied to a live show would just make it look completely fake. I love anime, especially the more mature (not pornographic, just mature) shows like Ghost in the Shell, Karas, RahXephon, Gantz, or Hellsing.
Personaly, life sucks. The real world sucks. Reality sucks.
Why not escape to these awesome places where your fantasies become youur selter from the sucky, sucky world?
Personally, because I could relate to their ethnic background. ^_^
Same reason people love soap operas. The drama. But anime has that fantasy/sci fi theme often that makes it even more dramatic.
Yeah, what Nos Lived said!!! Anyway, People like anime more because it has something called 'action' and 'topic' unlike the kids show you watch in cartoon network. I mean Ben 10? That gets boring for awhile you know. It's because it's made so awesome and there's so many to choose from!!!!
I'm not saying American tv sucks, but it isn't as good as Anime. It's almost 'tasteless'
I love cartoons and IMO Anime is a lot more exciting than...Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends... you know? ;3
And it also gives me motivation to draw..(since i draw in that sort of style) ^^
Also, it appeals to a lot of people...
Some like Horror types...while others like Shoujo......
so there is really something for everyone. ^^
well my sister (13) is in love with most anime, which is wierd considering we live in England (it's practically unheard of here).
She's an early teen, so I suspect her obsession is due to something like finding her, 'indentity' or just to be different....
I dunno I suppose that goes for most people... I have watched a popular one once or twice called, 'Naruto' it can actually be quite funny! :D
