Wrong!! Sasuke didn't left Konoha to get stronger to protect Sakura.
Sasuke left Konoha to train with Orochimaru so Sasuke can get stronger than Naruto. Naruto is stronger than Sasuke. Sasuke almost died when Naruto and him first faught. He wants more power so he can defeat his brother Itachi and be (again) stronger than Naruto. He is tired of being left out when fighting enemies and having Naruto defeat the enemies like when they went to the Hidden Village of Mist, chunin exam(Gaara) and other missions.

because he was happy and had freinds there and he thought those things made him weak and those things were the reasons he couldn't even scratch itachi. so he left so he can fill himself with hate for itachi and focus only on killing itachi for revenge.
