Taking place in highschool.
Romance and Comedy.
If main character a girl NOT too week and girlish.
No problem if there is gay or les scene.
If you do not get my preferences, something like OUran highschool host club.
(P.S. I am watching fruits basket, but I do not find it interesting. will it get any better afterwards? i'm in ep. 3)

I love azumanga Diaoh, there are many characters and theyre funny. Give it a try, theres not a love story that revoles around the show or anything.

it has a little romance in it. It also has quite many comedy scenes in it. Try it out ^^
I can't say about Fruits Baskets, but some anime you might like are DearS, Midori no Hibi (Midori Days), and almost anything from Rumiko Takahashi
