Comic book conventions are the best overall place to get comics depending on the size of the convention. Most comic dealers that sell there basically just want to get rid of their excess inventory, so they'll have boxes upon boxes full of comics for anywhere from 10 cents to a dollar. There are lots of really good comics in their dollar bins as well. They aren't anything like the dollar bins that you find at comic book stores (stuff that nobody wants or that are torn apart). At the last convention that I went to, I spent $200 and got about 300 comics including a dozen or so Spider-Man comics worth at least $15-20 each and a dozen silver age Daredevil comics that were all in F/VF condition all for $1 each. Of the $200 that I spent, none of the comics were things that you could find on Ebay for the same price or cheaper.

Comic conventions are still few and far between, so the next cheapest/best place would be online classifieds like craigslist.org. There aren't always that many good deals, but every now somebody will post their collection on there that has decided that they don't want to collect comics anymore or that whatever else. I few months ago I bought about 800 comics from a guy for $300, and I was able to hand pick what comics I wanted. There were tons of hard to find issues and pricey bronze age issues in really good condition. The reason he was selling them all was that his wife was tired of looking at his collection and told him to get rid of them. He said he didn't have time to look everything up and put them on Ebay, so he was content to sell them for $1 each and the more someone bought the bigger the discount he would give.

If you can't wait for a comic convention or the good deals on Craigslist, then Ebay is the third choice. Just make sure you look for good shipping rates and what not. The best things to look for are unlimited comics for a flat rate or even free shipping if you purchase a certain amount of comics.

EBAY, I see large lots of comics go for like less than $1.00 each, also if you have any swap meets around were you live some times you can find some there.

the best place is Ebay.. if you dont know what that is its an online store ,,, Ebay.com

Steal them off kids

As has been stated eBay. I also recommend craigslist.org as another online source. You can also go to garage sales and flee markets... quality of the comics is sometimes questionable. I've also had good luck at antique shops.. But only when they don't really know what they have.

These might help? Barnes N' Noble, Hastings, or maybe a Walden-books?
