All American animation looks idiotic! Jimmy Neutron, Shrek, Wild Thornberrys, Rugrats and i could name a million things.
Japan rules! i envy your art Japanese ppl! u got the good stuff like Naruto, and InuYasha, ur the real inventors of Transformers, i even watch your classic stuff like Captain Tsubasa and Iga No Kabamaru!

It's very simple..Japanese cartoons cant be compared with American's cz the graphics Americans use are awesome while Japanese following their traditional...With full confident, I will say American cartoons are the best of the best!!!!

You can't really compare the two. If you ask me what I was watching when I was young, I'll tend to remerber anime ( Captain Tsubasa, Saint Seiya, Macross, Dragon Ball...). As for cartoons : Mask, Transformers (though half Japanese).
The problem is with cartoons, it is mainly super heroes cartoons. So it ain't funny cos it is always the same at the end of the episode. The bad guys (always) lose. In anime, it is different : the bad guys can win sometimes. And you will often see a main caracter die. In cartoon I think when it happened it caused some ruckus (Optimus Prime in the movie).
In anime, there is a real story whereas cartoons don't have. And in anime all subject are treated and we see some violence. I doubt there is a cartoon like Elfen Lied or Black Lagoon where you can see blood every time.
Lastly, here is Y/A, the most popular are ? Anime. More questions about anime than cartoons. Simply because, more people watch anime. It is an international product whereas cartoons are mostly USA ones or European ones.
I go for anime all the way ofcourse, but I don't think that all cartoons sucks, maybe most of them but not all, there really are good ones, for example from ones you counted i don't agree only about shrek, coz it's kinda creative and funny actually..

do you even realize what you are saying American cartoons are totaly diffrent than japanese cartoon it is like comparing gran turismo to freagin final fantasy you cant compare the two just because they are diffrent genres right
