Why is it that everybody says that DBZ is better than Naruto? And please dont be!
Question: Me and my friend had a resent argument. He said DBZ is better in terms of fighting. I said that Naruto is better in terms of quality anime. Well i just think that DBZ is just {Im a super saiyen so i win.} Well if thats all whats the point if you know who is going to win? And please dont curse or anything like that. its just a question.

First thing to say; I wouldn't say that DBZ sucks just because the animation is "poorer" compared to Naruto. DBZ is an old-school anime, of course the quality is like, meh. But Naruto is no better than DBZ if we compare every single episode; DBZ has improving art style but Naruto's is constantly changing - sometimes good, sometimes crap, sometimes making people wonder if this is the anime they were watching all the time.
Let's break it into several analysis.
Characters and stories (plotline not involved; they are different anyway):
DBZ originally has inhumane characters. Goku comes from another planet. People do not always look like a human; they could be something else. The "Earth" in DBZ itself has animal-like people. More people from other planets. Then Saiyajins - 1? 2? 3? 4? Main fighting characters have great, great, great super power that could destroy a single planet with only a finger. Dead people can be resurrected by 7 piece of balls. It's not our fault, it's not Toriyama's either. It's his story, and don't tell me you never liked it on the first place.
Naruto's characters are human. They don't have that great, great, great super powers like DBZ characters. Okay, except for Naruto and Sasuke..... maybe. No people from other planets involved. Have unusual techniques that can kill many people in an instant. Dead people are almost impossible to resurrect. Still, not our nor Kishimoto's fault. He does what he like. We like them too.
Fighting:
DBZ's style is explosive... literally. I have mentioned that many characters can blow up a single planet with only their fingers. Dragged fights; when Goku (or other fighting characters) said they will end the fight in 2 minutes, they actually mean 2 or 3 hours (considering an episode has 30 minutes each). People blow up most of the time. But despite the explosive techniques and dragged fights, some moves are actually cool.
Naruto... it's the same, except for shorter fights and limited power. No one is able to blow up a single planet with a finger, but we have seen someone who explodes a several meters (or is it 10 km? D: ) radius. People rarely gets blown up. However, it has begun to follow DBZ's timeline style, especially the dragged fights. Whatever. I don't mind.
Humor:
DBZ has sense of humor, but is limited. However, I laughed whenever I see people blown up by Goku or any other explosive techniques. They died funny.
Naruto has good sense of humor. Characters can do anything they liked; we have "Shannaro!" Sakura, Naruto pulling out pranks, Sasuke being dragged to join the fun, and several other characters..... Also, they bring laugh when the story is not too serious, or almost into one.
I liked DBZ once (yes, I have to admit that I do like DBZ), just that my preferences go towards Naruto now. :)
In the end, both win in their own style.
i dont personally belive that it is... i think naruto is the greatest!
but to answer ur question its older and more people have watched it... hell i even watched it wen i was younger and i wasnt into anime much... but i like them both ... they have different aspects and some people like certain things in anime...
for example... the people in DBZ are MUCH stronger then those in naruto... they can do alot of things and the story is great...but ur absolutely right the quality of naruto is much better then DBZ... but the people in DBZ are wayyyyy stronger.... but thats because of the limits of the anime...let me explain... the limits of the ninja are more human in naruto .... but in DBZ the sky's the limit... u understand... they are different and hard to compare (the ppl in naruto and the ppl in DBZ)... but just because the ppl in DBZ are stronger doesnt mean the anime is better... it just means that the characters are stronger... and thats the truth!
i still think naruto is better... like i said it depends on what a person wants in an anime...

DBZ is like... they spend a whole ep alone screaming "aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh" and then it goes "on the next episode of DBZ..." and then all they do is "aaaaaaahhhh" all over again!! how long did it take goku to turn into a super seiyan?? one, two, three seasons??
not only that but, come on!! there was only supposed to be ONE super seiyan!! dammit man!! nw chichi could become a super seiyan if she wanted to!!
plus! the show started out by leading us to think gohan would be the strongest... hm... it looks to me like that never happened ^^
naruto, on the other hand, is more exciting. its funnier and the action is great!! the character and plot are waaaay better!! naruto rocks!
I think Naruto is better. I think they say that because Naruto is starting to take DBZs place and is becoming just as big as it. It's becoming a classic anime just like it too. I think DBZ fans think by saying its better that it will make Naruto go lower in terms and popularity. That's why they always diss it. They also say Naruto is copied.
I do think that Naruto is a better quality anime and I believe it's fighting scenes are really good. Plus, I know I want to watch Naruto because of how good it is. While DBZ, I thought it was okay but a bit reluctant to watch. Naruto just has something that pulls you into watching it. I mean, it got me into anime in total. that's pretty good.

I don't think DBZ is better, it just irritates me that people compare DBZ characters with Naruto characters in terms of strength and power. I mean come on, a single DBZ character can disintegrate an entire planet, so there is no way you can compare a wimpy jutsu to a Kamehameha wave.

I think Naruto is better than DBZ.DBZ used to be better until Naruto came along.I think Naruto is better because it is cool in animation and has nice techniques like the rasengan and chidori (lightning blade).DBZ is good with all of that but i think it would be better if they didnt have all those super saiyans.Thats my opinion.Naruto rules!

naruto is better than DBZ, naruto has more characters, good plot, amazing fight scenes, DBZ is like more for children, it's damn old, it has unimaginable things, like when Goku cut the moon and blew a planet, lol.... so you know, naruto is mch better than those unimaginable thoughts, I'm not saying that naruto is realistic, naruto has unimaginable things too, but they're not like DBZ, both are fictionals! actually the whole anime thing is fictional...
The characters are way too over powered in DBZ. The characters are better thoughout in Naruto and they have more human limits(example: in Naruto a guy gets hit in the chest with lightning he dies instantly (Haku). In DBZ a guy(Trunks) gets blasted through the chest with an energy beam and he lives for about 2 more episodes). Anime quality is better in Naruto and they don't spend several episodes charging up a single attack to end a season. The fights are also better in Naruto(watch shippuden).
I've heard this controversy many times between these two anime shows. of course DBZ wouldn't have as good quality because the anime is older, while naruto is newer so since new technology was developed and such, naruto's animation is better. but that doesn't verify that naruto is better just because of the quality. quality doesn't matter. plot and design does.
and so, DBZ takes 10 million episodes to defeat one enemy, but hey, they didn't have 100+ episodes of fillers. and their fighting is more animated and the protagonist, in this case, goku, learns new attacks and things along the way, going through different stages of super saiyan and fusing and such, compared to naruto when he just keeps using rasengan for ages until later in shippuuden[the manga] so that's a plus, that dbz has good fighting animation. but some of the people are right, dbz characters seem a little too "non-human" for them. but that's why they're from another planet, right?
and as for naruto, of course, the crazy ninjas in orange can't be hated. great plot, and naruto is more "human" than dbz, cause i mean, their muslces aren't bulging out of their skin like they've got a million uteruses on their arms or something. there is also alot more humor in naruto than dbz, so of course people would love this show. the character design is great, as well as the animation. plus, the suspense and the urge and adrenaline when watching the show is overwhelming and watchers love it. personally, i think i like naruto because of the characters and the way they were created. also, i like to be entertained by guessing what's going to happen next and why this character did this or that, so i guess it "trains the mind", while dbz, you just know that goku/gohan/vegeta's gonna kill the enemy anyway with a big explosion and its done.
both anime shows has its ups and downs, but both are very good. its a difficult argument as to which one is better, but in my opinion, ninjas rock but dbz will always be a classic. :]

DBZ is alot older yes Naruto is very cool I love it but no one is trying to dis the show for popularity of DBZ ok.without DBZ their would be no naruto DBZ paved the way for power no one gets mad at Superman for the dumb sstuff he does like holding black holes or pushing planets but it paved the way for Goku and DBZ same goes for Naruto he is a very depowered version of young Goku when you look at it.DBZ showed us how far power can go and took Superman ,and Marvel and DC's power to a new level some that only Gods could obtain.But you can't hate one and didcredit the other because they have thesame make up and both have similar plots and designs one is just on a planetary universal destructive level.I just hate when people that think because they believe Naruto is cooler that they can beat DBZ warriors in battle.But DBZ is a juggernaut in popularity and it's time for a new younger dawg to step in for it but it's been going since the 80's and yet is still being shown and put in imaginary characters in comics and animation history.That proves it's poularity.Because when we wanna put strong chracters up against the X-men or Hulk or Superman or any of the most powerful chracters with planetary crushing power which chracters from anime come to mind first to represent the west?It isn't Naruto it's DBZ...Lovem both but I personally like higher powers that can waste the bigboys and thats what Goku in company are while Naruto are lower level powers.
