A seperate anime/manga category would certainly be welcome. A seperate "where do I download/view xxx for free online without paying" caregory (or a way to filter these out) would be even more welcome.

no cuz most people who like anime like cartoons to so everyone asking and answering questions on the anime side would be asking and answering questions on the cartoon side so i'd be a waste i think comics & animation has enough room for everybody cartoon and anime lovers alike

I think animation and comics/comic strips should be separate, but as a fan of animation from all around the world, I don't need a separate "anime" category.

Well. The category is already listed as "Comics & Animation", so Y!Answer made sure they encompassed all aspects of cartoon and anime. I most definitely agree since I know more of anime but you have to realize that the genre anime itself is very narrow when you compare them to all the categories available in Y! Answer. ^_^
