basically i like mature animes non that are like bleach for example that they give the character mushroom heads and stuff or like fullmetal alchemist

I highly recommend these...
Elfen Lied - action/drama/horror/gore: a very deep, psychological anime. More like a dark romance drama. This show contains lots of blood and some ecchi. In my opinion, its a very good, but twisted anime.
Ghost Hunt - horror/action/drama; This is the anime version of " The X-Files" , filled with mystery, scary scenes and the supernatural. Its worth a look! Don't watch this series at night.......
TOKKO - action/drama/comedy/horror ; similar to
D. Gray-man and Darker than Black. Synopsis: survivors of the Machida massacre fight to save the human race from demons and symbiotes....
Darker than BLACK - action/drama/suspense ; a very good series that's similar to TOKKO and D.Gray-man; Synopsis: survivors from Hell 's Gate fight to protect the world from Contractors (superhumans).
Wolf's Rain - action/drama/horror -
Synopsis: a pack of wolves masquerating as humans are searching for "Paradise." Check it out!
Witch Hunter Robin - action/horror/drama; similar to Darker than BLACK; Synopsis: professional witch hunters hire a new associate.
Devil May Cry - action/horror/drama - based off the game, Devil May Cry (DMC), this series follows Dante and his devil-hunting business, Devil May Cry, as he struggles with constant financial debt. Similar to Cowboy Bebop.
Basilisk - action/drama/gore/ecchi; Synopsis: 2 clans, Kouga and Iga, battle to the death in this series; the animation and fight scenes are excellent. Check it out!
Tenjho Tenge - drama/action/romance/ecchi; Synopsis: Two teens enroll in a school where beating up your classmates is part of the curriculum. In my opinion, this anime has some of best fight scenes of all that I've seen so far; the graphics are cool; If you love martial arts fighting and suspenseful plot developments this is the anime for you.
Ikki Tosen - action/drama/ecchi; is like Tenjho Tenge, but has more ecchi and suspense.
Jigoku Shōjo - horror/drama/action; Synopsis: girl activates a website where if you submit the name of one you hate, the Jigoku Shōjo (Hell Girl) will offer you a black straw doll with a red string wound about its neck. If the string is pulled, she will ferry the recipient of the revenge straightaway to Hell, but on the condition that those who request her intervention fall into Hell as well at the end of their natural lives. Similar to Elfen Lied and Death Note. Don't watch at night.
Jyu Oh Sei- action/adventure/drama; excellent anime series. Check it out! Synopsis: "Survival of the fittest"; a boy fights to live in a strange world full of man-eating plants and criminals to become the Beast King.
D. Gray-man - action/comedy/drama/horror; Synopsis: Allen Walker is a member of the Black Order, a group of Exorcists connected with the Vatican. Their mission is to stop The Millennium Earl, an evil being planning to cleanse the world by destroying all the humans in the manner of Noah's great flood. This is a great series, check it out! Similar to Trinity Blood.
Utawarerumono - action/drama/romance/ecchi etc. This is an awesome anime series. Combines many elements that define a great anime.Synopsis: a man suffering from anmesia becomes emperor and constantly battles to maintain peace between his people and himself. Check it out, you'll love it!
The Twelve Kingdoms (Junni Kokki) - action/drama/angst/comedy; this cool anime has excellent animation and character development...this is a must see series, plot involves central heroine's psychological trials and triumphs as she grows from a "wishy-washy" highschool girl to the bold queen of Kei.
Seirei no Moribito (Guardian of the Sacred Spirit) - action/adventure/drama; Synopsis: Balsa is a wandering warrior, who takes on the task of saving lives in atonement for past sins. On her journey, she happens to save a prince and is assigned as his guardian. Check it out!
Nightwalker- action/romance/drama/horror;
Vampire detective, Shido, reflects on his past/present life experiences. Even though he's a vampire, he is still very much a human being. This anime is worth a look.

action/drama/comedy - placed in sequential order, these are more guy-oriented (seinen) type anime. Synopsis: 4 reluctant guys travel together on a quest to Sangri-La while constantly battling demons. Contains smoking, swearing and lots of fighting, overall a great series. Similar to Cowboy Bebop and Devil May Cry.
Cowboy Bebop - action/drama/comedy; plot revolves around the lives of 3 debt-stricken bounty hunters as each of their pasts are revealed and brought together as the series progresses. Check it out!
Outlaw Star - action/drama/comedy; This series is like Cowboy Bebop, but with a few differences. Plot involves the adventures of outlaw Gene Starwind and his young, but smart business associate, Jim Hawking as they encounter new people and new dangers.
